AHHH! I'm pretty excited. Yesterday after work I had a date with a friend to help him load up his car.. He's gearing up for his 15th (!!) move in 5 years, poor boy, and while he is a packing pro, still used it as an excuse for us to hang out. But I'm not complaining.
I was helping bring things outside when I ended up with his sewing machine in my hands. I've been thinking seriously about really wanting to learn how to sew lately, and I've almost bought a machine twice, but we're in serious don't spend mode at the moment (which is so much harder for me than it should be) and therefore, I've suppressed the desire as much as I could. Seeing his though, I had to ask, "how often do you really use this thing?" and his response was "ha. never."
!!!
Long story short, I got to bring it home with me. It's on permanent loan, I suppose. He's sure he's going to forget I even have it in a few years, and that's just fine with me!
So now, I have a (borrowed) sewing machine that is calling my name. And a ton of fabric samples that want to be turned into something lovely. I have a feeling we're all going to be great friends.
Just like these guys...
Now I just have to decide what to make first. Any ideas? xo
