But. I will not freak out. I can't.
Instead... Look. More moving things.
I learned this trick from a friend in college. There is no sense taking everything off of your hangers and then packing up your clothes and your hangers separately, only to have to unpack them all and rehang them all. No sense. Right?
So. I use the garbage bag sharpie system. It's highly technical. Try to stay with me.
This is how I did it:
>> 2 Cut holes in the middle of the bottom of your garbage bags, and number them as you go.
(I suppose this only matters if you keep your closet in some semblance of order.. I like to keep things separated by type and color... don't knock it 'til you try it. It's sort of the best.)
>> 3 Place numbered bags over groups of 8-10 hangers, and tie them off at the bottom.
>> 4 Load up your trunk with your entire closet! Yes. They all fit.
>> 5 Unload and put your stuff in your new closet! Enjoy it while it lasts. Enjoy it for the day.
You're welcome.

I'm SO glad you shared this with me. As I am moving next week and have never quite figured out the best method. I tried leaving stuff on hangers but OT always is such a disaster...so this...this is PERFECT
ReplyDeletehahaha... I'm glad I'm helping someone, at least.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you shared this with me too! I wish I would have done this a month and a half ago when Rick and I moved, but I love this idea!
