- I bought a bunch of yarn in our wedding colors to start making cute little pom pom balls. And I got a blister on the first night. It takes me 1.5 minutes to make one. Which, in my estimation, means that I have about 15-17 hours of work ahead of me. SO. If anyone wants to help...
- Picked a new recessional song. It's not very original, in fact I think it's sort of trendy. but it makes me smile. So, there you have it.
- And I think we're pretty much set for the ceremony (except for the vows), now we just have to set up a time with our officiant to work out the details...
- Went through some "dishware/serving essentials" with my Aunt for the reception.. she literally has a treasure trove in her kitchen cabinets. Such beautiful things.
- Still going back and forth about a videographer. a. we don't really have the money, and b. so far all of the people that are "vendors" are friends and family, and part of me really feels weird about having a random outside person there. Maybe I'll just make my brother get some raw footage and see what we can make of it.
- I'm returning the sweater. It's 100% acrylic, so I can't dye it another color, and I'm too afraid to bleach it.
Things to buy/do:
- dowel rods from Home Depot for the fabric backdrop
- rope for the knot tying ceremony.. to practice with!
- a small bunch of babies breath to practice making the boutonnieres and a hairpiece? maybe.
- bags to hold the recessional tosser pom things
- materials for signs/labels for the reception tables
- and probably a lot of other things too.
- like, make all the pom poms and finish cutting the strips for the backdrop and the table runners.
- what am I doing about the guest book? engagement photos? cards in a cute box? hanging tags?
- take stock of all of the bottles and jars that I have and decide if I'm going to do anything to add color to them (paint? tissue? sand? twine/yarn?)
- etc. etc. etc.
And a few non-wedding but life-related things:
- Set up the electricity at the apartment.. I get the keys TUESDAY!
- Got excited about the J.R Watkins dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, cleaning wipes and all purpose spray cleaner that I found at the drug store the other day. The nesting has officially begun.

- As an aside, the trunk of my car has become a traveling storage unit. It is full of dishtowels and potholders and kitchen aprons, a new shower head, old clothes to go to salvation army, shelf liners and those cleaning supplies, and all the paper things Jeanne gifted me on Tuesday. I'm stocking up. And maybe hoarding a little. And ready to get it all out of my trunk.
- Did the final on-the-phone talk through with the insurance people. I should know by the beginning of next week if they are going to approve my application and grant me coverage.
- After MONTHS (literally) of not having a home computer, we've deemed it a necessity, and are hopefully getting one this weekend or next. So, that will help. That should make things a little easier to keep track of. I'm pretty excited.
