BABY GOES TO THE BEACH

10/52 | 9 Weeks Old | Mar 7th 2014

Two Months!

Well my big boy you are two months old and just the cutest thing ever. You are so much more alert now, making and keeping eye contact with us.. and you are smiling regularly and making our hearts melt each and every time.

The smiles are the best, buddy.

At your two month appointment, you weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs 4 oz, and were measured at 25 3/4 inches long. That means you’ve nearly doubled your birth weight and grown almost 5 inches. Off the charts for both height and weight. Literally above the curve. ??? I had to put away all of your newborn clothes at about 2-3 weeks, and just recently put away the 0-3 month clothes as well. You’re wearing 3-6 month clothes already and that just blows my mind.

You love love love laying on the changing table in our bedroom and looking out the window at the tree. We think you like watching the rustling of the leaves, and the way the light shines through. Hopefully we’ll find you a similar spot when we move next month, because you could stay and stare out the window for quite a long time.

We’re tired though. You’re not sleeping much.. only about 30 minutes at a time during the day, and then you’re still up anywhere from 2-5 times a night. I think everyone in the house will be happy once those stretches get a bit longer.

All in all, we are so glad you’re here.
I’m the happiest I’ve been in awhile, even though it’s hard at times.
And you make your Dad light up like you wouldn’t believe.

You’re our favorite little mister, and we can’t wait to watch you grow.

One Month with Jude written Feb 3, 2014

The past month with this guy has been surreal. Sometimes I still can’t wrap my head around the idea that I have a baby. And that he’s here with us and will be with us for a very long time.

It’s really been a blur. We are just surviving from one day to the next. He’s really forcing me to live in the moment, which I really love. I only wish I was a bit more mobile, and that I could clean my own house and make my own meals …and that we could get more than an hour of sleep at a time. But, those things will come in time, right? :)

He’s absolutely perfect. Every mom must say that, I know. But he just is.
